Sovereignty Reclaimed: HERstory Comes Before HIStory is a group unlearning program where we will explore in community how patriarchy has led modern women to continually ask the question, “What’s wrong with ME?” This began when patriarchal monotheists violently sent Goddess worship underground and used the Bible to dominate women for millennia. Demeaning and demoting Eve, a black woman and the Mother of us all, and leaving out the names and stories of Biblical women was just the beginning. The Bible was later used by settler colonists to justify enslaving people of color around the world. This information is not being taught in churches or public schools. Until you understand HERstory everything you think you understand about HIStory is confusion.
